Key Features:
• Handcrafted Flatweave Construction (Kilim/Dhurrie):
• Technique: Handwoven on a loom by skilled Indian artisans using the flatweave technique. This process interlaced warp and weft threads to create a completely flat surface.
• No Pile: The rug has a low profile with no pile or knots, making it thin and easy to place under doors or furniture, and highly suitable for stairs.
• Reversible: The flatweave construction often results in a reversible design, allowing the rug to be flipped for extended use and durability.
• Design & Pattern:
• Style: Features a prominent Southwestern/Tribal Geometric design. The angular, sharp patterns are characteristic of the Kilim weaving style.
• Motifs: The pattern consists of large, repeating, vertically aligned diamond or 'Tree of Life' motifs with stepped edges (zigzags/serrated diamonds).
MATERIAL: indian blended wool
Flatweave / Low Pile: This is the most defining feature. Unlike thick, hand-knotted rugs, Kilim rugs are woven without knots, creating a very thin, flat surface with virtually no pile.
• Handwoven (Handloom): The rugs are made on a traditional loom by interlacing the horizontal threads (weft) through the vertical threads (warp). This artisanal process makes each piece unique.
