There are few things in a woman's wardrobe that carry the weight of tradition, the grace of craftsmanship, and the brilliance of pure silk all at once. Our Handcrafted Madanapalle Silk Saree in Pink is one such rare treasure — a saree that embodies the timeless weaving legacy of Madanapalle, a city in Andhra Pradesh that has earned its distinguished reputation across the length and breadth of India purely on the strength of its extraordinary silk weaving tradition.

Madanapalle has been producing some of India's most elegant silk sarees for generations. The city's master weavers have refined their craft over decades, developing a weaving style that is characterised by remarkable structural integrity, a luminous silk sheen, and a quiet, understated sophistication that sets Madanapalle sarees apart from every other silk weaving tradition in the country. When you drape a Madanapalle silk saree, you are not just wearing a beautiful garment — you are wearing the pride of an entire city, the skill of a master weaver, and the legacy of a tradition that has stood the test of time.

This saree is woven in a vibrant, deeply saturated pink — a colour that has always held a special place in Indian fashion and festivity. The body of the saree is a rich, smooth expanse of pure silk adorned with delicate self-woven gold motifs scattered across the pink ground — small, elegant figures that catch the light beautifully with every movement and add a subtle, refined dimension to the plain body. The deep navy blue body section with its brilliant gold zari border, visible in the complementary view, further demonstrates the saree's versatility and the exquisite contrast of colours that makes this piece so visually arresting.

The pallu is where the saree truly comes alive — a spectacular composition of dense gold zari work featuring ornate arch-shaped medallion motifs filled with intricate floral and figurative designs, framed above and below by rows of bold zigzag gold weave that ripple across the fabric like waves of liquid gold. The border runs the full length of the saree in gleaming gold zari, finished with a characteristic temple-edge design — elegant, traditional, and unmistakably South Indian in its aesthetic sensibility.

Woven using a 2-ply warp and 3-ply weft of fine silk thread — a construction that gives the fabric exceptional body, strength, and a beautiful drape — this saree is built to last for years and even decades with proper care. At 47 inches wide and 6.30 metres long including a blouse piece, it drapes magnificently and offers generous coverage for all traditional draping styles.

Whether worn at a wedding, a festive celebration, a religious ceremony, or a formal gathering, this saree makes a statement that is both timeless and deeply memorable.

Care Instructions

  • Dry clean only—this is the safest and most strongly recommended method for preserving the pure silk fabric and the gold zari work

  • Do not machine wash or hand wash with water — silk fibres and zari threads are highly sensitive to water, heat, and agitation

  • Do not soak, wring, twist, or scrub the fabric under any circumstances

  • Store wrapped carefully in a clean, dry muslin or soft cotton cloth — never store in plastic bags as silk requires air circulation to maintain its natural sheen and freshness

  • Keep away from direct sunlight during storage to prevent fading of the vibrant pink colour and tarnishing of the gold zari

  • Do not use chemical detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners at any stage

  • Iron on low heat from the reverse side of the fabric only — never iron directly on the zari border or pallu as heat can damage the gold threads

  • Re-fold the saree along different lines every few months during storage to prevent permanent crease marks on the silk
