Command attention and elevate the spirit of any space with this magnificent handcrafted brass horse statue, a stunning embodiment of power, grace, and the extraordinary metalcraft heritage of the Bhareva tribal community of Betul, Madhya Pradesh. Cast using the ancient Dhokra lost-wax technique that has been practised and perfected by tribal artisans across central India for over four thousand years, this horse statue is a masterpiece of traditional Indian craftsmanship — bold in form, meticulous in detail, and deeply rich in cultural meaning.

The horse has held a place of supreme reverence in Indian culture, mythology, and art across the ages. A symbol of speed, courage, loyalty, victory, and prosperity, the horse is considered an auspicious presence in the home and workplace. In Vastu Shastra, a brass horse statue placed in the right direction is believed to attract positive energy, career success, and financial growth, making this sculpture as spiritually meaningful as it is aesthetically magnificent.

The statue depicts a proud, standing horse rendered in a sleek, stylised form characteristic of the finest Dhokra aesthetic. The body is smooth and burnished to a warm, lustrous antique gold finish that gleams beautifully in natural and artificial light alike. A richly detailed saddlecloth covers the horse's back, decorated with a cross-hatched diamond lattice engraving and rope-twist border that showcases the artisan's mastery of fine surface work. Around the neck hangs a ceremonial collar of cast brass ghungroo bells — a row of perfectly formed spherical bells that speak of royal processions and festive adornment. A twisted rope bridle runs around the muzzle, and two small flame-shaped finials crown the top of the head, adding a final touch of regal drama to the composition. The long, elegant legs taper gracefully to finely detailed hooves, and a slender tail curves gently behind, completing the sense of poised, arrested movement.

At 14 x 6 x 15 cm, this is a well-proportioned, substantial piece that makes a confident statement on any surface — a study desk, office table, living room shelf, mantelpiece, display cabinet, or puja corner. It is also an outstanding gift choice for virtually any occasion where you wish to give something truly meaningful, beautiful, and lasting.

Care Instructions

  • Use a soft-bristled dry brush regularly to gently remove dust from the surface, paying particular attention to the engraved saddle area, the ghungroo bells, and the bridle detailing where dust tends to settle.

  • For deeper cleaning and to restore the warm golden brightness of the brass, use Pitambari powder mixed with a small amount of water—apply gently with a soft cloth or soft brush, work carefully around all fine engraved and cast details, then rinse lightly with clean water and dry immediately and thoroughly with a soft cloth.

  • Do not use chemical cleaners, acid-based solutions, harsh abrasive metal polishes, or any commercial cleaning products, as these will permanently damage the surface finish and erode the fine detailing.

  • Do not soak the statue in water or leave it wet at any stage, as prolonged moisture exposure causes oxidation and surface discolouration on brass.

  • Dry the statue completely after every cleaning before returning it to its display position.

  • A natural patina will gradually develop on the brass surface over time, deepening the antique golden tone and adding character—this can be preserved for a more aged, vintage appearance or gently cleaned with Pitambari for a brighter, polished finish, entirely according to personal preference.

  • Place on a stable, flat surface, and handle with care—avoid dropping or knocking the statue, as the fine cast legs and detailing can be vulnerable to impact.

  • Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight and persistently damp or humid environments for best long-term preservation of the finish and structural integrity.

Own this golden brass horse today, and let its timeless presence bring the energy of strength, success, and tribal India's finest artisanship into your home and your life—every single day.
