Referred to as "Chedi Butta" (Plant Motifs) due to the floral and foliatemotifs used.,the chedi butta saree is woven using 75D art silk and 60s cotton on raised pit loom In Tirunelveli District. The Motifs are woven in bright colours with cotton yarn. They are woven by hand without using dobby or jacquard attachments.
