The Covai Silk Saree is also known as Soft Silk Sarees which are woven in Coimbatore, Tiruppur and Erode districts of Tamilnadu. In this Saree variety instead of gum, plain water is applied and rubbed thoroughly by the weaver to get the soft handle with improved luster on the saree. These Sarees are woven with large floral contemporary designs with fancy colors. As the name implies these Sarees are very soft handle and light weight which makes the wearer so comfortable.
