The features of silk Saree made in Somandepalli is similiar to that of Dharmavaram sarees and has richly woven motifs of flora and fauna and designs inspired by the temple murals and paintings of the famed Lepakshi temple in Hindupur, Anantapur district. The use of gold, silver, green and red zari add beauty to the sarees. These sarees are the pride and prized and possession of women folk of all walks of life. These sarees are having great demand in southern part of India as the women folk wear these sarees in all religious functions and in marriages and other important functions. These sarees are woven with good colour combinations with different motifs and textures to enhance the appeal of the fabric. Jacquards are used for the designs.
