The creation of this thorth begins with selecting quality cotton yarn in 20s 2-ply count for both warp and weft, ensuring strength and softness. Weavers carefully set up their looms with 48 ends per inch in the warp and 40 picks per inch in the weft, creating a balanced, medium-weight fabric perfect for kitchen use. The pink base is woven with meticulous attention to tension and evenness, whilst the white stripes are incorporated at precise intervals to create the characteristic border detail. This plain weave construction, though simple in appearance, requires considerable skill to maintain consistency across the entire 54-inch length and 27-inch width.
