This 'Kaman' is drawn across the stone with the aid of silicon carbide powder, slowly and carefully cutting the stone into thin slices, typically between 2 and 4 mm thick. Once sliced, the pieces are trimmed, shaped and polished, bringing the hidden, dendritic masterpiece to the fore.
