Dhokra is one of India's most ancient craft traditions, using the lost wax hollow casting method where molten brass is poured into hand-shaped moulds to create forms of extraordinary detail and character. The geometric patterns running across the body of each deer — the fine parallel lines, the diamond motifs, the textured neck and flanks — are all drawn by hand in wax before casting even begins. This is not a shortcut process. It is slow, skilled and deeply intentional work.
