About the Craft
This folder comes from Rajasthan, a state with a deeply embedded tradition of block printing and fabric craft. The Buddha print on the exterior is achieved through hand printing, where carved blocks are inked and pressed onto cotton fabric by hand, building up the repeat pattern of serene, half-lidded Buddha faces in cream, blue, and olive green. Each impression is slightly unique, which is what gives hand-printed fabric its warmth and visual interest compared to machine printing.
